Sub-Acute Medicine

The Sub-Acute Medicine Program is for patients who have already completed acute treatment but still require medical care and therapy to regain full functionality over their daily life.

The Sub-Acute Medicine Program at Cornwall Hospital is comprised of the Acute Stroke Unit (15 beds), Rehab Unit (10 beds) and Alternate Level of Care Unit (20 beds).

Care is provided to patients by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, personal support workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists.
