Acute Medicine
The Acute Medicine Program at Cornwall Hospital provides immediate and early specialist management of adult patients with a wide range of clinical problems and acute illnesses who present in hospital as emergencies, but who don’t require critical care. More than 50 beds make up the Acute Medicine Program, located on level 1 of the hospital’s Janet Macdonell Pavilion.
Care is provided to patients by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, personal support workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists.
