Inpatient Mental Health Unit

The 16-bed Inpatient Mental Health Unit provides assessment, stabilization and short-term inpatient treatment for those adults experiencing a mental health and/or behavioural crisis. Care provided treats the whole person and is delivered by a multidisciplinary team in a secure and therapeutic environment. Inpatient care offers individual and group therapy, recreational activities, health teaching and social work support. Community Mental Health partners are often vital links in discharge planning and support. With the consent of the patient, the healthcare team encourages caregivers to become full participants in the care and discharge planning of their loved one.
